Fusion Specialties had designed custom mannequins for Banana Republic many years ago, and some of those mannequins were still in use when they came to us over 10 years later and asked to design a new collection. At first opting for mannequins with heads in order to display accessories such as hats and sunglasses along with the clothes, Banana Republic has changed their strategy, choosing to feature mostly headless mannequins inside the store. (Mannequins without heads have an added benefit of realizing a measure of cost savings, a detail that is sometimes overlooked when considering mannequin styles.) The brand has continued to use mannequins with heads in the window displays, retaining a visible range of display options.
