3D Generalist / Digital Design

We are looking to add to our team of 3D Artists to challenge and drive our creative boundaries, to push our product development, and provide our sales team with new and fresh concepts.  As part of our 3D Team, you will bring your passion and willingness to take on and execute 3D Designs and requests in a fast paced, ever changing environment.  Creatively and technically, you will take part in Creative Briefs, follow External and Internal direction and complement the custom design process to deliver a high-quality product.  Problem solving and collaboration is a must between multiple departments in the company.

 

As a 3D Generalist, you’ll be asked to take on tasks throughout the 3D Pipeline from concept to final product.  A focus on Sculpting, Rigging and Print Preparation are some daily asks you will be tasked with.  In addition, a willingness to take on a variety of 3D art related tasks depending on the current needs is important.   Taking the initiative to keep tasks on track and updating the appropriate people of statues and issues you may encounter is a requirement.

As part of a team that is constantly pushing our own creative boundaries and learnings, the 3D Artist is expected to continually seek improvement of process and adhere to company best practices.  Effective time management and organization through the development process is a key requirement.

 

  1. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Ability to translate Concept and Digital Sketches into 3D Designs
    • Works well independently but can also collaborate and problems solve as a team under tight deadlines
    • Must be detail oriented, highly organized and makes sure company standards are upheld
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to problem solve and voice potential zones of concern within various 3D Pipelines
  2. KNOWLEDGE
    • Strong knowledge in Autodesk Maya, 3DSMax or 3D Program
    • Knowledge of Pixalogic ZBrush
    • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop Adobe and After Effects
    • Strong Anatomical Knowledge for Digital Sculpting and Blend Shape Corrections
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  3. PLUSSES
    • Knowledge of Product Design, Development Processes and Manufacturing Processes
    • Experience with 3D Printing and Print Preparation
    • Experience with Houdini and Substance Designer
    • Knowledge of Fluids, Cloth, Particles and Dynamics
    • Proficient in Maxwell Studio for rendering and pre-visualization
    • Knowledge of Python Scripting
    • Experience with Rhino and Production Molding Preparation ( T-Splines etc )
  4. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
    • Minimum of 4yrs of successful track record in related required skills
    • A Certificate, BFA or BA degree in 3D Graphics and Animation or equivalent experience

Creative Manager Position

We are looking to add a Creative Manager to our Design and Development team. Working under the Art Director, you will learn the process of creating custom mannequins and visual display elements that exceed our customers’ expectations. Along the way, you will challenge and drive our creative boundaries, push our product development, and provide our sales team with new and fresh concepts.  As part of our team you will bring your passion and willingness to execute requests in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

SUMMARY

As part of a creative development team and reporting to the Art Director, the Creative Manager (CM) is required to work closely with internal departments (design, sculpt, digital, master)  and external departments (sales, project management, engineering, production) to ensure that custom development project information is understood and executed throughout the creative process.

 

The CM is responsible for managing assigned tasks of each new development project from concept design hand off through the creation (concept, sculpt, 3D, proto, MWR) phases, and ensuring those projects are on task and on time. The CM is expected to follow “best practices” and to bring new insights, ideas, and trends as it related to the retail design industry to the collaborative creative process. The effective management of projects and priorities in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment is a key requirement, and daily interaction and communication with the development staff is necessary to effectively manage project through the process.

Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Understand the client vision and, through clear communication and leveraging of visual assets, guide the team to develop product that meets the client vision.
  2. Understand the development schedule, ensuring all projects assets are handed off complete. Ensure tasks are complete within the allotted time scheduled and adhere to process standards and customer expectations.
  3. Uphold processes, procedures and standards in Development, by understanding the process handbooks and checklists, and ensuring artists adhere to the information within.
  4. Provide daily constructive feedback on all sculpts to ensure team is on track and upholding the needs of both the client and the company. Work with the AD to creatively solve problems that arise in translation of customer requests to creation of a manufacturable product.
  5. Understand client point of view on aesthetics and needs as described by the AD, and pull imagery that supports the brand aesthetic. Attends pose, fit, detail, and finish internal explorations/reviews. Assembles presentations for customer review of process phase assets (pose decks, photo decks, 3D renders, catalogs, etc as assigned).
  6. Participate in developing materials and presentations for internal or external use. This may include photography, illustrations, PhotoShop composites, and other media as determined.
  7. Provide product styling for sculpt photography when needed. Assist in scheduling or styling any photo shoots as assigned.
  8. Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Finish Specialist

We are looking to add a Finish Specialist to our Design and Development team. Working under the Design Director, you will lead all aspects of finish – from exploring new trends to present to customers to creating recipes, finish processes and training guides for our production teams. Along the way, you will establish best practices for determining paint systems, qualify color matches and drive solutions when faced with quality issues.  As part of our team you will bring your passion and willingness to execute requests in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Finish Specialist is responsible for all aspects of finishes for NOA Brands products from new finish development to the successful execution in production. The Finish Specialist will be the expert and authority on finish materials, processes and procedures. In this capacity, the FS will establish standards and practices to insure finish quality, durability, costs and timing are consistent and predictable. The FM will support the Account and Development teams by researching retail market trends and finish material innovations to establish NOA Brands as an industry leader in design. Additionally, the FS will support the Engineering and Production teams with finish process documentation and training to insure finishes are executed to expectation.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  1. Research, develop and execute new finishes to meet internal and client requests.
  2. Work with suppliers to develop and approve production materials.
  3. Create finish process documentation for production instruction and guidelines.
  4. Introduce new finish materials and processes to NOA Brands production facilities.
  1. Establish NOA Brands finish materials approved for use in production.
  1. Define and execute finish material durability testing and documentation.
  2. Identify material dry times for processing, handling and packing finish goods.
  3. Trouble shoot and remedy production quality issues.
  4. Execute color matching and mixing with accuracy.
  5. Execute finish samples for client or internal review.
  6. Routine travel to the NOA Brands Mexico facility is required.

 

 

OTHER TASKS / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain and update Technical and Safety Data Sheets for all finish materials.
  2. Maintain and update Development finish library and samples.
  1. Improve upon existing Finish systems & implement new systems for better quality and workflow.
  2. Audit production execution of finish applications.
  1. Schedule and prioritize his/her time to meet necessary deadlines.
  1. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  1. Other duties as assigned by Design Director.

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Knowledge:

 

  1. In-depth knowledge of finish materials, processes and equipment for plastic, fiberglass, metal and wood.
  2. In-depth knowledge of faux finish, deco and logo applications.
  3. In-depth knowledge of finish industry and current trends.
  4. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office & Enterprise Resource Planning software.
  5. Ability to conceptualize and implement new systems & processes for improved productivity & quality.
  6. Ability to develop finishes for quick-turn manufacturing.

 

Education:

 

  1. BA / BFA / BS or approximate equivalent work experience and/or other course work.

 

Experience:

 

  1. Minimum of 5 years of finish experience in a high paced production environment.
  2. Minimum of 2 years managing finish & production personnel.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

 

  1. Ability to work quickly and efficiently and take direction from the Design Director.

  11. Extensive standing, stooping, bending and walking are required.

 

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

 

PC computer, Microsoft office and Enterprise Resource Planning software, a verity of finish materials including but not limited to water based, lacquer, acrylic, urethane, epoxy, solvents, power and hand tools.
